Beliefs and Values
God exists and has revealed himself to mankind. The Bible is a special expression of this revelation. This revelation also finds its ultimate expression in the incarnation of Jesus Christ. God is spirit and eternally exists in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, indivisible and of one substance.
The Bible, all the books of the Old and New Testament, is Holy Scripture, the inspired Word of God, infallible and inerrant in the original writings. It is fully authoritative and our only absolutely trustworthy guide for faith and life.
We believe that mankind was created in the image of God; that men and women sinned, and thereby incurred, not only physical death, but also that Spiritual death which is separation from God; and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature.
Jesus Christ is Lord of heaven and earth, preexistent with the Father, God of very God. He is the eternal Word become flesh, conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary. He was crucified, suffered, bled, and died. He was buried and three days later rose from the grave victorious over death and the powers of darkness. He ascended to the right hand of God the Father, where he is glorified as Lord of all. He is the only mediator between God and Mankind. He is the God-given atonement for the sins of the world, and there is salvation in him and him alone.
The Holy Spirit convinces men and women of sin, effectually calls them, and is the divine agent by whom they are born into the Kingdom of God. He indwells, enlightens, and empowers believers to live in union with Christ.
Human beings are accountable for their response to the forgiveness, pardon, and reconciliation offered them in the Lord Jesus Christ. When an individual trusts in him, the person is justified by God and adopted into his family. Failure to believe in him results in eternal separation from God.
God’s will for believers is for them to exhibit transformed lives evidenced by purity, holiness, and growth in Christ-like character. He desires that they each participate according to their spiritual gifts in the task of effectively sharing the gospel message of salvation with those near and far who have yet to believe in Jesus.
The Church consists of all those who have trusted the Lord Jesus Christ. The primary purpose of the Church is to worship God and glorify him by building up believers and effectively reaching the world with the gospel of Christ.
Jesus Christ will return, raise the dead, judge all men and women, and establish his glorious Kingdom.
In who we are, what we do, and how we operate, CRM values character, relationships, and mission, all thoroughly invigorated by spiritual passion.
Expressed through integrity
Biblical integrity should permeate every aspect of how we live, minister, and operate as an organization.
Expressed through excellence
Captured in our stewardship statement, excellence means “doing things right the first time” for the leaders we empower, the staff we serve, and the partners who trust us…so that the name of God is renowned among the nations.”
Expressed through clear expectations
In who we are and whom we recruit, there is a mutual commitment to clearly articulated expectations, privileges, and responsibilities.
That empower through coaching and mentoring
We pursue ministry that is profoundly relational and, where advantageous, incarnational. We are biased toward informal, life-on-life relationships in the trenches of everyday experience.
That are grace-filled and real
As wounded, broken individuals in need of grace, we are drawn to one another in relationships that are transparent and real. We are a people who desire to live as instruments of grace to each other as well as the leaders we empower.
That thrive in community
As an essential component of genuine, biblical Christianity, community is expressed in several ways in CRM. First, we desire to minister in teams where harmonious and complementary relationships can flourish. Second, we catalyze and shape communities of transformation among church planters, pastors, lay leaders, younger leaders, and among the poor.
That is apostolically driven
We are driven to multiply and reproduce who we are, our apostolic calling, and the vision we hold in common. We are committed to Christ’s purposes in a lost world and we are unequivocal in our obedience to his final command.
That is creative and effective
While truth never changes, how it is articulated and proclaimed must be adapted to the times, the settings, and the cultures in which it is engaged. Therefore, we seek new, innovative means for empowering leaders, and we value the discovery of fresh paradigms of effective ministry and mission.
That is adaptable and relevant
As we cross cultural, social, economic, or linguistic barriers to serve the Church, we are committed to ministry that is appropriately contextualized and culturally sensitive.
That is prophetic
In nominal contexts, we will be voices for evangelism, renewal, and the creation of innovative structures to sustain and reproduce spiritual vitality. Among fellow believers, we will speak prophetically and challenge the church to a missional commitment and lifestyle.
Characterised by intimacy with Christ
We believe the living, abiding presence of Jesus is the indispensable ingredient for leadership and the sole sufficiency for who we are and what we do.
Characterised by intentional spiritual formation
We believe that effective ministry flows out of being and is useless apart from the anointing of Almighty God. We are intentional about our own spiritual formation, and foundational to all we do is imparting this commitment to the leaders we serve.
Characterised by biblical obedience
We believe such spirituality must be firmly grounded in the authority of the Bible and an unwavering willingness to obey the clarion call of Scripture.
